Introduction of the faculty

Faculty of Advanced Materials Engineering consists of Department of Chemical & Environmental Technology and Department of Metallurgical & Materials Engineering. The former aims to nurture special technicians equipped with overall knowledge on petrochemistry, plant design, bio-engineering, nano-technology, electronic materials, and environmental technology. The latter cultivates special technicians on cutting-edge electronic materials and functional components as well as steel components which serve as the basis of industrial structure. Both of them produce workers suitable to the demands of industrial working places through systematic education on theories and various experiments and practices.

Department of Chemical & Environmental Technology — Basic Science for Affluent Life

This department is the optimal department to be equipped with comprehensive knowledge in the areas of gas & refinery & petrochemicals, chemical process, pharmacy & bio technology, and organic & polymer materials, etc. and in the areas of BT (bio-technology), NT (nano-technology), IT (information technology), and ET (environmental technology). The department trains students in theories in basic and applied chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, new materials engineering, and material analysis, and make them do practices on those areas. It cultivates special technicians adaptable in working places in related industries.

Department of Metallurgical & Materials Engineering — Leader in Cutting-edge Nano Devices of the 21th Century

Modern society demands various new materials such as new electronic materials and functional materials as well as existing metallic materials in various fields. Consequently, this department teaches students basic theories of metals, electronics, and functional materials — metallic structure, thermodynamics, metallic materials, and semiconductor process, etc. — and make them do experiments and practices on casting, surface treatment, material experiment & , heat treatment, and CAD & CATIA. It cultivates special technicians adaptable in working places in related industries.
